Peter de Savary seems to have slipped quietly off the radar.

But the 66-year-old entrepreneur, yachtsman and one-time chairman of Millwall FC — who used to own Land’s End, John O’Groats and quite a swathe in between — seems happy with his less frantic lot.

He still has hotel interests and this is one of them, although the Old Swan & Minster Mill, deep in Cotswold country, is very much overseen by his energetic American wife Lana. She has done a commendable job. This is a big project and will get bigger in the next 12 months, with the addition of a spa, inside and outside swimming pools, wildflower meadows and a Grand Hall...
